Does Kroger Have a Senior Discount?
Kroger no longer runs a nationwide senior discount — its original 5-10% program phased out between 2017 and 2024 — but individual regions still hold occasional Senior Discount Days offering 5% off for shoppers 55 and older.
Regional Events, Not a Nationwide Program
There's no standing, company-wide senior discount at Kroger today. What still happens in some markets — for example, the Greater Cincinnati area has run one on select Wednesdays — is an occasional Senior Discount Day offering 5% off groceries for shoppers 55 and older (not 65, despite what the name might suggest). You'll need to show your age on a driver's license or state ID along with your Kroger Plus Card at checkout, or scan the card and ask the cashier to apply the discount. Since participating stores set their own dates, there's no guarantee your local Kroger holds one at all — check with your specific store or its Kroger family banner (like Ralphs, Fred Meyer, or King Soopers) for a schedule.
Because Senior Discount Day is set store-by-store and region-by-region rather than nationwide, check directly with your local Kroger (or its regional banner) for whether and when it runs.
