Winn-Dixie closes all stores on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day, an intentional policy from parent company Southeastern Grocers to give employees the day off, shared with sister chain Harveys Supermarket.
One Policy Across Southeastern Grocers' Chains
Winn-Dixie is owned by Southeastern Grocers, which also operates Harveys Supermarket and Fresco y Más. Southeastern Grocers closes all of these grocery and liquor stores on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day as a deliberate choice to give employees a full day of rest with family, rather than running the shortened hours many other grocery chains use on Thanksgiving.
