Does Walmart Have a Senior Discount?
Walmart has no age-based senior discount, no senior day, and no 55+ or 65+ pricing anywhere — but AARP members can get Walmart+ membership for $58 a year instead of $98, and $4 generic prescriptions are open to everyone regardless of age.
No Senior Discount, But a Real AARP Walmart+ Deal
There's no senior discount card, no special day of the week, and no age-based percentage off at any Walmart store, on Walmart.com, or in the app. What does exist is a genuine AARP member perk: signing up for Walmart+ through aarp.org (not Walmart.com directly) drops the price from $98/year to $58/year — a real $40 savings, requiring an active AARP membership ($15 the first year, $20 after). One catch: you have to re-verify your AARP membership annually before the renewal date, or the plan silently renews at the full $98 price. Separately, Walmart Pharmacy's $4 generic prescription list (covering common medications like metformin, lisinopril, and atorvastatin) is open to shoppers of any age, and Walmart+ Assist offers a discounted membership to anyone on Medicaid or SNAP, regardless of age.
