Walgreens rarely closes completely — even on Thanksgiving and Christmas, many locations stay accessible specifically to keep pharmacy services available.
Why Some Walgreens Stay Open on Thanksgiving
Per Walgreens' own official holiday guidance, most Walgreens stores are closed on Thanksgiving Day — but 24-hour locations remain open specifically to provide essential pharmacy services. On Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day, Walgreens stores generally stay accessible, though pharmacy operating hours can differ from the store's general hours and vary by location.
