CVS stays open nearly every day of the year — but the retail store and the pharmacy counter don't always follow the same schedule, which matters if you need a prescription filled.
Store Hours vs. Pharmacy Hours — Know the Difference
Most CVS locations keep their retail store open on holidays when the pharmacy counter itself may be closed or running more limited hours. This is confirmed directly by CVS: on Thanksgiving, for example, most retail stores stay open with reduced hours (commonly around 8 AM to 5 PM), while pharmacy hours vary more — some pharmacy counters close for the day even when the store stays open. If you need a prescription on a holiday, check your specific pharmacy's hours separately from the store's general hours.
