Avis holiday hours depend heavily on location type — airport counters often stay open around the clock through the holidays, while neighborhood branches close on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day like a typical retail business.
Airport Locations vs. Neighborhood Branches
Avis counters inside busy airports frequently run 24 hours a day, including on major holidays, to serve red-eye arrivals and early flights. Neighborhood and off-airport Avis locations, by contrast, keep more typical business hours and generally close entirely on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. Because of this split, whether "Avis" is open on a given holiday really depends on which specific location you mean.
